chasing light

I live to paint each day
thick lavish strokes
slathering chunks of pigment
with my fingers sometimes too
pushing away the goddamn lonely lines
I cover my emptiness with swirls of color
cerulean and emerald
vermilion magenta
impasto presto
hours fly by
the light runs away from me
almost faster that I can document it
it has become my fate to chase it
relentlessly
longing to capture its intensity
